A new music program for St. Paul’s

Childrens Choir1-1Voices for Life is an exc

iting new two-tiered choral music program, being offered at St. Paul’s that seeks to involve children and youth from eight to eighteen. We welcome children from the congregation, friends of children from the congregation and children from the wider community. The program will teach the choral and musical skills necessary for participants to perform sacred and secular choral music of excellence and distinction.

The program will use the choir-training syllabus from England’s Royal School of Church music (RSCM) as the basis for building a solid choral program. The RSCM training scheme provides a framework for choral singers to develop their vocal skills, their musical understanding and their knowledge of repertoire. The program comes with a range of teaching material and supporting resources. It is intended to help singers grow as people as well as musicians.Children in grades three through six will sing in the Tower Ensemble and rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30PM. Youth in grades seven through twelve will sing in the St. Paul’s Youth Chorale. They also will rehearse on Tuesdays from 7:15 to 9PM. All rehearsals will be at St. Paul’s
