Stewardship 2017:  Sharing God’s Grace Through Our Gratitude

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”  II Corinthians 9 v. 11

We begin this season of stewardship on October 1st, which reminds us of the generosity of God as it flows through us and allows our gift of generosity to others.  In gratitude for the gifts that God has given to each of us, we, in turn, give to St. Paul’s the ability to spread God’s gifts to many.  Your contribution fosters the mission of St. Paul’s for the fellowship of our members, for the visitors who seek comfort in our presence, and for the community which benefits from our outreach.   Your contributions take many forms; an hour spent in making sandwiches for the Gathering, ironing clothing for the Thrift Shop, planting and tending our beautiful gardens, and yes, a contribution of the wealth which God has bestowed upon you.

IMG_04C8D3230C34-1Each of you will receive a letter from Father Brad with a pledge card for you to thoughtfully complete.  We are all asked to bring our completed pledge cards to church services on October 22nd, when we will celebrate Commitment Sunday, during which we will have a special opportunity to celebrate our gratitude with the pledging of our gifts for God’s purpose.  Our season of stewardship continues throughout the year, as we consider our expression of gratitude in the giving of our time and talent to the mission of St. Paul’s.  If you are unable to attend service that day, please mail the card to the church in the envelope provided.

Your contribution to the mission of St. Paul’s is a double opportunity for gratitude.  You give in thankfulness for the gifts that God has given to you.  Moreover, you provide the community of St Paul’s to spread the generosity of God to the larger community, causing gratitude in the hearts of the recipients.  Thank you!
