Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 1, to see Armida, by Rossini, with Renee Fleming, in a high definition broadcast on the movie screen, straight from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. We’ll go to the South Shore Marcus Theater, off Rawson in Oak Creek. The address is 7261 S. 13th, Street and the phone number is 414-768-5960.
The opera starts at noon and lasts four hours and nineteen minutes, with two intermissions. Let’s meet at the theater at 11:30AM to insure we all get tickets. The opera tickets cost $22 per person and $20 for seniors. Following the performance we can go for a late lunch/early dinner at DiCarlo Pizza, 8469 S. Howell, where we can order and split the bill. Last year it was about $15 per person.
This opera is the last one in the Metropolitan season; also, be aware that the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performs Brahms German Requiem that Friday and Saturday.
